After 35 years of service, Comair will land for the last time at CVG.

Delta Air Lines is shutting down the regional carrier on Saturday, Sept. 29, after sending out 1,700 termination notices back in July.

Comair's final flight into CVG will arrive at 7:30 p.m. after departing from the George Bush Intercontinental airport in Houston, Texas. The final Comair flight will land in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Sept. 29.

In July, Delta announced it was shutting down the carrier and switching to bigger jets. Of the 1,700 lay-offs, 1,000 of the employees are in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region.

Despite the air shutdown at the end of the month, several office and human resource employees will stay employed until the end of the year.
