The Komen College Scholarship Program

Posted: Updated:

The Susan G. Komen for the Cure offers college scholarships to aid students of financial burden due to the loss of a parent or guardian to breast cancer, or to their own breast cancer diagnosis.

The scholarship is a $10,000 a year for up to four years to attend a state university in pursuit of a baccalaureate degree Scholarship recipients are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service, financial need and demonstrated leadership potential.

Last year, the program's applicants increased by 80 percent, but due to this increase, the amount of students offered the grant decreased by nearly half, which left many students without support.  To help grow the program and to help students, Komen is asking for support by donating.
