Monday morning mayhem at FOX19

We were definitely spoiled weather-wise this weekend but our lucky streak has come to an end. Meteorologist Katy Morgan is saying that we can expect scattered showers to be rolling through the area today and into tomorrow. The highs for you Monday forecast will sit in the mid 60s.

19-year-old Antonio Spurling will be headed to court this morning after he allegedly tried to run over two cops in East Walnut Hills. Officers say that they were originally trying to pull Suprling over because he was driving someone else's car without permission but caught up with him after he crashed into a utility pole. Thankfully no one was hurt but residents in the area were without power for a while.

Friends and family members gathered last night to remember 19-year-old Joseph Oakley who was found shot to death in a Fairfield creek last month. It was the same creek where 15-year-old Chelsea Johnson was found earlier this year. So far, no arrests have been made in either case. If you have any information, please call CrimeStoppers at 513-352-3040.

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, a local company is lighting up pink to show their support. Dan Wells will be live downtown this morning for the Kroger headquarters to flip the switch for breast cancer!

Folks working for minimum wage in Ohio will be getting a raise at the start of the new year! Rob Williams and Jessica Brown will tell you just how much coming up on the FOX19 Morning News.

Have you ever done hot yoga? If not, you need to try it...it's amazing! A new hot yoga studio is opening up at the Kenwood Galleria this morning and as apart of its grand opening, you can check out the classes for free all this week! Class times range from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. so be sure to stop by and check it out!

Who dey, baby! It's a good day to be a Cincinnati fan after our Bengals took down the Jacksonville Jaguars last night 27-10. The Bengals are now 3-1, which I'd have to say is a pretty good start to the season!

General Motors has issued a recall on 40,000 vehicles due to a faulty fuel pump. Click here to see if your car is on the list. If yours is included in the recall, you will be able to receive a free replacement pump by contacting any GM dealer.

Coming up today during the FOX19 Morning Xtra, Frank Marzullo and Stephanie Woods will be hanging out at the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum! After clinching the NL Central title and having an all-around awesome season, we felt it was only appropriate to have a baseball-themed newscast! The Reds will be taking on the Cards in St. Louis tonight at 8:15.

We want to give a shout out to all of you that participated in or just came out to support the 2012 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure! The race had a great turnout and I know our anchors and reporters had a blast on Saturday. Be sure to check out our slideshow!

That wraps up your Monday morning mayhem here in the newsroom! I hope you have a great start to the work week!
