Challenges Ahead in Iraq

Bartlett: Challenges ahead in Iraq

A White House spokesman says the Bush administration expects challenges to remain in Iraq following next week's handover of sovereignty.

White House Communications Director Dan Bartlett tells NBC's "Today" show it's an "unsettling" and "anxious" moment in Iraq, but that the country is making progress. He cites a poll commissioned by US officials that shows nearly 70 percent of Iraqis have confidence in their new government. Bartlett says US troops will remain in Iraq "until the job is done."

He gives no specifics, but says commanders on the ground believe the current multinational force is sufficient.
