Suspect taken for mental evaluation

A man suspected of plotting to blow up a shopping mall in central Ohio is now in Rochester, Minnesota. Somali native Nuradin Abdi  has been transferred to a medical facility in Rochester for a mental evaluation to see if he's fit to stand trial. It's one of six such facilities for males operated by the US Bureau of Prisons.

A federal magistrate had ordered the evaluation after Abdi -- during a court hearing -- put his face on a table, muttered to himself and stared vacantly at relatives. Authorities accuse Abdi of plotting with an admitted al-Qaida member to blow up an unidentified mall in the Columbus area.
