COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -
With no tickets being available on sale for the public and two undefeated SEC rivals set to face off, the demand in the secondary ticket market for No. 6 South Carolina vs. No. 5 Georgia steadily climbed in the past few weeks, according to the university.
One such secondary website has tickets listed anywhere from $168 to as much $5,500 and people are posting all over the internet looking for tickets to the game. Face value on the single game Georgia ticket is $70. While such demand for a game is exciting, it also poses risks, the university said.
While the university is looking forward to a packed stadium on Saturday, officials reminded fans that with a game like this one there is a strong potential for counterfeit tickets being sold.
The only authorized sales outlets are the South Carolina Athletics Ticket Office and Ticketmaster.
If you bought your ticket elsewhere, you can verify its authenticity at the box office in Colonial Life Arena between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or on game day at the Williams-Brice box office, which will open four hours before kick-off at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
