Children rescued from 3-alarm fire

Dozens of fire crews battled a three-alarm apartment complex fire Friday morning.

The fire broke out around 3 a.m. at 500 Williams Street.

Officials say the fire started on the third floor of the building.

Several people were trapped inside but were able to escape through windows. Officials say that a woman jumped from her third floor apartment and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Two children were also rescued from the building.

Assistant Fire Chief for the Sharonville Fire Department, John Mackey, says that there is extensive water damage on both the first and second floors. The third floor of the building has been completely destroyed.

"It's pretty scary because I've never been in a situation like this," said Aaron Blair, who lives on the first floor of the apartment. "We opened the door and it was engulfed in flames."

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The American Red Cross is assisting those who were displaced.
