Conference to honor life of Fred Shuttlesworth

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A conference this weekend will honor the life of Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth, who died one year ago, on Oct. 5.

Shuttlesworth was a former Cincinnatian and civil rights pioneer.

The conference will be held Oct. 5-6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center on Ridge Road.

The conference theme, 'Non-Violence and Unconditional Love for All' was the philosophy of Shuttlesworth. He and his late wife, Ruby, used this theme throughout their ministry and as a family mantra as their children were growing up.

Speakers for the conference include Dr. Otis Moss, Rev. C.T. Vivian, Knox Tull, Brian Jaffee, Dick Weiland, Cedrick Sparks, Rev. Paul Booth, Mossi Tull, Terrence Harewood and Dr. Angela Shuttlesworth.
