Reds go 2-0 in NLDS thanks to hot Arroyo and blazing bats

The Cincinnati Reds scored again and again while starter Bronson Arroyo allowed only two men on base as the Reds beat the San Francisco Giants for the second night in a row in the National League Division Series.  The Reds won 9-0.

Arroyo allowed one hit in the 5th and one two-out walk in the 7th; those were the only chances the Giants had in his 7 innings.

Multiple Reds shared offensive honors: Brandon Phillips went 2 for 5 with one RBI.  Joey Votto scored twice while getting 3 hits in 4 at-bats.  Jason Ludwick went 2 for 3 and drew a walk while scoring twice, once on a leadoff solo home run in the second, which was the Reds first run, and as it turns out was also the winning run.

Jay Bruce got 2 RBI's on a single and went on to score himself.  Ryan Hanigan went 2 for 4 with, driving in 3 of the Reds runs and scoring one run himself. Drew Stubbs joined in late in the game with an RBI triple, and then scored a run of his own.  The Reds' 9 runs came on 13 hits.

The Giants managed a rally of sorts in the bottom of the 9th, putting men on 1st and 3rd with two outs off reliever Jose Arredondo, before the game ended on a ground out.

The Reds are returning home for the third game against the Giants on Tuesday.  The first pitch will be at 5:37 p.m.
