17 pounds of marijuana seized during traffic stop

JACKSON COUNTY, IN (FOX19) -

A vehicle carrying 17 pounds of marijuana was stopped on Sunday on I-65 in Jackson County, Indiana.

At approximately 2:00 p.m., Indiana State Police pulled over a 2007 Chrysler 300 near the 55 mile marker on the southbound side.  During the course of the traffic stop the officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana radiating from the passenger compartment. He walked his K-9 partner, Kane around the vehicle who alerted indicating the presence of drugs. 

During a search, 26 individually wrapped packages of marijuana hidden in the two rear doors of the vehicle were located with a total weight of approximately 17 pounds.  Police arrested 22-year old Loniquel Trachelle Hoskins of Houston, TX.  She was transported to the Jackson County Jail and is now facing charges of Dealing in Marijuana-Over 10 Pounds (Class C Felony) and Possession of Marijuana-Over 10 grams (Class D Felony).
