FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A Fairfield Township man is behind bars after police say he attacked a woman with a knife.
Police received a call about an assault on Windlake Court in Fairfield Township.
While en-route, officers were advised that the female victim had cuts on her neck.
Upon arrival officers made contact with the woman and observed lacerations to her hands and puncture wounds to her neck.
The suspect, identified as Austin Drake, 22, allegedly attacked her with a knife while they were in the basement.
Witnesses at the scene pulled Drake off the woman and called 9-1-1.
Police say alcohol was located at the scene; however, the motive is unknown at this time as all parties present say there was no argument leading up to the incident.
According to police records, Drake has a history of violence.
The woman was transported to the Atrium Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Drake was arrested and charged with felonious assault and transported to the Butler County Jail. The charge may be upgraded upon consultation with the Prosecutor's Office.
