Whatta Wednesday!

Grab your jackets and your umbrellas - it's going to be a wet morning commute today! Meteorologist Jeff Creighton is telling us to expect a few AM showers to roll through the area with highs creeping up into the upper 50s by the afternoon.

The big story this morning is about none other than our Cincinnati Reds. After a very long and nerve-racking game, they just couldn't hang with the Giants last night and lost 2-1. The Reds will be going for their third win of the series today and Dan Wells will be live at GABP with the Reds' 411.

The guy who held up the start of yesterday's game will be headed to court this morning. Rives Grogan ran onto the field prior to first pitch, holding a sign that read "Abortion is Sin". Officials say that Grogan is known for disrupting public events across the country. After being tackled by security, Grogan was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and resisting arrest.

A crime alert has been issued at the University of Cincinnati after police say a sex crime occurred on campus yesterday. Kelly Rippin is live in Clifton with the details on both the incident and the suspect on the loose.

Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky has announced that he plans to appeal his sentencing. A judge sentenced Sandusky to 30-60 years in prison after he was found guilty of sexually abusing 10 boys over a 15-year time span. Rob Williams and Sheila Gray will have more on the appeal during the FOX19 Morning News.

The controversy continues over the new fees for Kenton County dispatch. Residents are now required to pay an additional $85/year in taxes to help pay for the new set up for dispatch services. What do you think about this? Fair or unfair? Come let us know on our Facebook page.

The lovely ladies from Adventures around Cincinnati are paying us a visit today to share a few sites worth visiting. Laura Hoevner and Terri Weeks will have their take on some local farms and the Halloween events happening at Kings Island this fall! Check it our during the FOX19 Morning Xtra at 9 a.m.

Last but not least, it's Wednesday which means Dan Evans from the Kenton County Animal Shelter will be here with an adorable pet looking for a good home! If you've never visited the shelter, I definitely recommend that you do so! You can check out the adoptable pets here!
