Domestic assault charges have been dropped against a Metro police officer who resigned from his job last year in connection with the case.
Andre Johnson, 46, was relieved of all law enforcement authority on Oct. 10 after a warrant charged him with punching and kicking his wife during an argument back in April.
According to an affidavit, Johnson had allegedly been wearing army boots during the assault.
Police arrested Johnson on a separate domestic assault charge over an argument in February 2012.
Johnson had worked with the department for 24 years before resigning. It's unclear if he will return to the police department after the charges were dropped.
