DANVILLE, KY (FOX19) -

Joe Biden and Paul Ryan are playing a crucial role in capturing Ohio voters. They two will take center stage in the vice-presidential debate on Thursday night.

FOX19 talked to Hamilton County's Democratic and Republican leaders to get their thoughts on what to expect.

"Joe Biden is one of my heroes. He connects with people as good as any politician I've ever seen. When you see him speak, and just the way he can relate to people, first from the podium and then when he's mixing with the crowd there's nobody better at that than he is," said Tim Burke, Chair of the Hamilton County Democratic Party.

"This is an ongoing dialog with the American people about the future of the country and, you know, Paul Ryan has been a visionary about appreciating the problems we have with our budget, so it should be an exciting debate," said Alex Triantafilou, Chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party.

The debate gets underway at 9 p.m. in Danville.
