HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -

Three medical helicopters were called to the scene of a crash in Hamilton on Friday afternoon.

The accident happened around 3 p.m. near the intersection of Knightsbridge Dr. and Second. A beverage delivery truck and a small Nissan were traveling eastbound on Knightsbridge when the Nissan was rear-ended by the delivery truck.

Six Hamilton High School students were in the Nissan at the time of the crash. The jaws of life had to be used to open doors to get some of the victims out of the car. Three of the occupants were flown by helicopter to University Hospital and their conditions are considered serious.

Three other occupants from the Nissan were taken by squads to area hospitals for treatment for non life-threatening injuries.

The delivery truck driver and witnesses are being interviewed by members of the Hamilton Police Department. No charges or citations have been issued at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
