'White power’ written in chalk outside home of BG coach
BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) - Bowling Green State University Men's Head Basketball Coach Louis Orr woke up to a disturbing message outside his Bowling Green home Sunday morning.
Bowling Green Police say sometime Saturday evening or Sunday morning someone drew the words "white power" in chalk on the sidewalk in front of Orr's house. The suspect or suspects also drew what appeared to be a swastika, police said.
Orr has been the head basketball coach at BGSU since 2007. A university spokesperson told Toledo News Now Orr did not wish to comment on the matter, but that this is the first time anything like this has happened to him in Bowling Green.
"We're hoping that someone in the community can provide us some information as to who might have been involved in this sort of thing. There wasn't lasting permanent damage done, but it's still troubling that the messages that were posted on the sidewalk were posted and that's troubling to anybody in the community. I'd like to think that we're not a community that would support such activity," said Bowling Green Police Lt. Brad Biller.
Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call Bowling Green Police at 419-352-2571.
