Fire crews battle stubborn fire at vacant home

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - Hamilton fire crews battle a stubborn fire at a vacant home Wednesday night.

The fire broke out at a home in the 600 block of Ludlow Street just before 10 p.m.

The first crew was called for smoke in the area, their investigation revealed smoke pushing from the back room eaves of the vacant house.

Firefighters were on the scene for three and one half hours as the fire was very difficult to extinguish because it was racing through most of the walls from basement to attic.

The cause of the fire is unknown. Crews are also investigating a fire earlier in the day in the 500 block of Ludlow Street.

One firefighter suffered a wrist injury and was taken to Fort Hamilton Hospital for treatment.
