WESTWOOD, OH (FOX19) -

Police responded to the scene of a home invasion in Westwood on Thursday night.

The crime happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 3200 block of Lakeview Avenue. Police say two suspects ordered the family to get down in the living room at gunpoint.

When Brittany Short, 26, tried to stop the suspects from taking a lap top computer, one of the suspects shot her in the back.

She was taken to University Hospital and is expected to survive.

Police are saying another home invasion in West Price Hill may be related to the Westwood home invasion.

Around 9:45 p.m., two men forced their way into a home in the 1800 block of Wegman Avenue. Abul Sy, 34, was pistol whipped after trying to wrestle the suspects.

Authorities say the suspects called Sy by his name and one suspect told the other to 'shoot him.' The suspects knew where to find Sy's cash, took it then fled the scene.

The suspects were wearing dark pants and hoodies. If you have any information, call Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040.
