Several Banana Boat sun care products are being taken off the shelves. The maker of the sunscreen products, Energizer Holdings, Inc., announced it is initiating a voluntary market withdrawl of the continuous spray products due to a potential safety concern.
The product may take longer to dry on the skin and if the consumer comes into contact with a flame before the product if completely dry on the skin, there is a possibility the product could ignite. The company says the issue is believed to be associated with the size of the spray valve opening.
Among the sunscreen being recalled is the UltraMist Kids and UltraMist Sport SPF.
If you have purchased one of the recalled products, you're advised to not use them. The manufacturer can be reached at 1-800-SAFESUN for more information.
