SPCA event highlights ties between domestic and animal abuse

SHARONVILLE, OH (FOX19) -

The SPCA's annual Bark Out Against Battering event took place in Sharonville Saturday.  The SPCA teams up with the YMCA and Women Helping Women for this event in an effort to raise awareness of the ties between domestic violence and animal abuse.  

The event featured a dog costume contest, guest speakers, raffles, prizes and pet portraits. A k-9 officer from the Cincinnati Police also held a demonstration.

    A man is in Clermont County Jail facing charges of aggravated menacing and inducing panic after an hours-long standoff with police Sunday, according to a press release from Union Township Police.
