A one-alarm structure fire caused $6,000 in damage to a home at 531 Elberon Avenue in East Price Hill Sunday.
An occupant had attempted to put the fire out with a bucket of water, but was unsuccessful. Cincinnati Fire Department was called to the scene around 1:30 p.m. and initiated an aggressive interior attack. The fire was out within 10 minutes.
Working smoke detectors alerted the occupants in the multi-family unit and all occupants evacuated the structure and were unharmed. The cause of the fire is believed to be an unattended candle on a coffee table.
A total of 31 firefighters were called to the scene, none were injured.
The American Red Cross was called to assist in the relocation of one family.
