Former UC board chair George Strike passes away

George Strike, former University of Cincinnati Board Chair, passed away Sunday at 82 years old.

Strike also served on the University Hospital board, the old Health Alliance board, and was the chairman of the board of UC Health.

UC President Santa Ono tweeted: "I am very sad that George Strike, an extraordinary citizen of Cincinnati and Board Chair at U Cincinnati and UC Health has died. RIP." Strike was recently presented with a President's Award of Excellence for his many years of service at UC.

Strike was also a former partner with the Cincinnati Reds. He was part of group led by Carl Lindner who bought the team from Marge Schott.
