Emilio Estevez to direct film set in Cincinnati

Award winning actor/director Emilio Estevez was in Cincinnati on Thursday to announce his next movie project, which will be filmed in Greater Cincinnati.

"Johnny Longshot" will start filming in January of 2013.

The family-friendly film is about a retired jockey who lives in Cincinnati and longs to get back in the saddle.

He finds his way back to the sport through harness racing.

The film will shoot in Cincinnati for 37 days.  According to a release, there will be about 1,500 new people hired for the film's cast and crew.

The film is getting about $3.8 million in an estimated Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit.

Estevez is the son of actor Martin Sheen, a native of Ohio.

Locations have not been set.
