LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The discovery of a dog in a grocery bag has prompted a search for the person responsible.

According to the Shamrock Arrow Foundation, they found the dog tied up in a plastic bag and left by the intersection of Liberty and Chestnut Streets Tuesday night.

The dog, named Karma, is suffering from three different types of fractures causing veterinarians to believe he was tossed from a car.

Karma's fur is matted and he is infested with fleas.

He is now recovering at the Blue Pearl Animal Hospital.

The Humane Society of the United States is offering a $2,500 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible.

Metro Animal Services who also helped the dog get the care it needed is investigating.

Anyone with information is asked to call them at (502) 363-6609.
