FOX19's Monday morning mayhem

Good morning!

While we're definitely in better shape than the folks on the east coast, we'll still be kicking off the work week with the effects of Hurricane Sandy. Meteorologist Katy Morgan is telling us that a wind advisory will go into effect from noon today until tomorrow evening and we can expect a few pop-up showers throughout the afternoon. The highs for your Monday forecast will top out in the upper 40s.

Along with the rain and high winds comes a lot of headaches for travelers in the Tristate. Cory Stark is live at CVG this morning with the details.

A massive water main break at Mehring Way and Pete Rose Way is expected to cause issues for downtown commuters this morning. Crews have been working to fix the issue since yesterday afternoon, but several restrictions will be in place today. Click here to see what all will be closed down.

We're finally in the homestretch of the 2012 Presidential election and Ohio is still a huge hot spot for both candidates. Dan Wells is live at Fountain Square this morning with more on both Obama and Romney's visits to the Buckeye State later this week.

The latest Ohio poll from the Ohio Newspaper Organization has Romney and Obama in a dead heat at 49% each. Nationally, a Gallup poll of likely voters has Romney ahead of the President, 51% to 46%.

A huge congratulations is in order for the Beechwood High School Marching Band! They returned home to Fort Mitchell last night with their third class-A state championship title! Good job, guys!

The San Francisco Giants swept the Detroit Tigers last night to take the World Series title. Marco Scutaro singled home the tie-breaking run in the 10th inning. The final score was 4-3. Rob Williams and Sheila Gray will have all of the highlights from last night's game during the FOX19 Morning News.

With the dreaded cold and flu season being right around the corner, it's time to start taking action against the bugs if you haven't already done so. Coming up in today's edition of the FOX19 Morning Xtra, Tracey Johnson and Frank Marzullo will be chatting with nutrition and lifestyle expert, Kelli Calabrese, on how to keep you and your family healthy this fall!
