Six Dead In Workplace Shooting

Six people killed in shooting at Kansas meatpacking plant

A sixth person has died from Friday's shooting at a Kansas meatpacking plant. The victim died overnight at a Kansas City hospital. Five people died Friday at the ConAgra Foods plant, including the shooter, who killed himself. Authorities identified him as 21-year-old Elijah Brown. Investigators say they still have not determined his motive. They say Brown was was hired at the plant in September 2003, laid off because of production downturns and then called back to work a few months ago. Plant employee Andre Porter says he encountered the shooter after hearing the first shot but before seeing the gun.

He says he asked, "What are you doing -- shooting fireworks?" Porter says the man had a conflict with some co-workers earlier in the week, but he didn't describe the dispute.
