CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Family will say goodbye to a baby they barely got the chance to know Saturday.

Police say six-month-old Keyoni's father assaulted her last Saturday, and she died from her injuries. One week later, her family is saying goodbye.

A wake is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Richmond Funeral Home on Beatties Ford Road. The funeral will follow.

Todd Boderick, 25, was in court Thursday morning. He is charged with murder and is being held with no bond. Police arrested him early Wednesday morning for his daughter's death.

In court Thursday, the judge appointed Boderick a public defender. His next court date is November 14.

Officers say they were called to the Southern Comfort Inn on Tuckaseegee Road on Saturday in reference to a six-month-old baby girl not breathing.

In an interview with WBTV, the mother of the baby says she when she left her hotel room, her baby was fine.

Krishay Mouzon says she went to use wifi in the hotel's office and left her baby, Keyoni, with Boderick, her father.

Mouzon says when she returned to the room 10 minutes later, her baby didn't seem right. She says she checked and realized the girl wasn't breathing.

She called 911.

The little girl was rushed to the hospital where doctors told Mouzon the baby had broken ribs, trauma to the head and bleeding on the brain.  She later died from those injuries.

Homicide detectives responded to the hospital to investigate. Crime Scene Search returned to the Inn and collected evidence.

Investigators consulted with the Medical Examiner and determined the child's father physically assaulted her, leading to her death.

Boderick was taken to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Officer where he is being held with no bond.

This is not the first time Boderick has been accused of hurting a child.

Back in 2010, Boderick and his girlfriend were arrested for felony child abuse when his girlfriend's 7-week-old baby boy had multiple severe injuries that doctors say were inflicted by an adult.

Prosecutors say they had to dismiss that case because they couldn't prove who assaulted the baby and how.
