LOVELAND, OH (FOX19) -
Thousands of Tri-State children hit the streets Wednesday night for the annual right of fall, Trick-or-Treat.
Without trying to dampen the excitement for children, parents are taking precautions with the candy their kids bring home. "They're kids. So, they want to enjoy themselves and really the burden of safety, we make sure is on the parents," said Steve Varga of Loveland. "You don't eat something that looks like it's been tampered with, if it's something you don't recognize. And we sort through it. We actually sort through all the candy before we let them eat any of it."
For some families, reading the ingredients is just as important. "I had to be extra (careful) this year because I have a child with allergies," said Kristen Schwetschenau of Loveland. "We go through and we look and we kind of delineate out what has nuts, what has eggs."
