Incident Management Teams from the Tri-State have been deployed to the East Coast to assist victims of Superstorm Sandy.
The Ohio IMT was deployed to Suffolk County, Long Island, New York Wednesday morning morning.
The Butler County Ohio Incident Management Team (IMT) has been deployed to New York City to assist in response to Hurricane Sandy. The deployed Incident Management Team is made of individuals from Emergency Management, Liberty Township Fire Department, Madison Township Fire Department, Middletown Fire Department, Fairfield Township Fire Department and Deerfield Township in Warren County. They will be setting up and running a Logistics Staging Area (LSA) at Citi Field / Shea Stadium in New York.
Louisville has deployed a swift Water Team to New York under EMAC.
Indiana has sent 3 Incident Management Assistance Teams (IMAT) and an Emergency Medical Support (EMS) task force with 24 ambulances, Mass Causality Incident (MCI) trailer and support staff. Indiana's district IMAT team is on standby.
The deployment of these teams and their equipment is made possible due to the Federal and State funding received through grants.
