(RNN) – It has been an interesting week, to say the least. Bad weather and presidential candidates who conduct themselves about as well as toddlers in the sandbox can change your perspective on things.
Once things get back to normal – and really, who can judge what normal is anymore – we'll probably still need more time than we have to sort out what has been happening in the span of these recent weeks.
The bad news: Neither you nor anyone you know has quick, easy answers.
The good news: We all get to sit back and watch random moments unfold on our computer screen and enjoy someone else's nonsense make our own nonsense look petty.
A silver lining in an internet cloud – it's a beautiful thing.
NOT YOUR AVERAGE FAN
Just for kicks, how many of us have seen a half-naked man disrupt a high school football game, then get tackled and carried off by a mob of angry parents?
So, everyone? That's what we figured.
This could top the list of "random things that really aren't that funny but somehow ended up being hilarious." This guy also had the misfortune of getting T-boned by a player's dad, who happened to be a law enforcement officer.
Crack kills, people. And when you watch this video, you'll realize there are multiple reasons why.
(NOTE: Some images in this video could be disturbing. View at your discretion.)
DARTH DOES DISNEY
Aside from the millions of annoying emails that flew around offices everywhere, what good did the announcement of Disney's purchase of Lucasfilm do?
For one, it produced a wonderfully awesome parody of Darth Vader's trip to the Magic Kingdom.
It also made everyone who has hated the franchise since they released Episodes I, II and II go, "Yep, gonna be worse than ever."
But hey, maybe the one thing that can truly eradicate the evil influence of the "dark side" is the perpetual happiness promoted by singing animals.
GIRLS (AND BOYS) GONE WILD
Speaking of really bad ideas, the sight of a few hundred teenagers and young adults dancing on a roof has to make you feel good, right?
Ah yes, tuition money hard at work. We take it none of the young people at this party are structural engineering majors.
And if they are, who cares? There's alcohol.
(Note: There is some strong language. Also, if you see your kids in this video, don't tell them how you found out.)
PLEASE, MAKE IT STOP
Apparently there are two groups of people who want this election to be over already: Underpaid journalists who have breathed politics for the past four months and young children.
The sight of a tearful, 4-year-old redhead saying she's tired of "Bronco Bama" and Mitt Rominy" is both priceless and thought-provoking.
And don't act like there aren't a few adults you know who were close to doing the same thing as this little girl.
TWO DAYS IN TWO MINUTES
Not that you would want to re-live Hurricane Sandy, especially if you live anywhere close to New York City, but this time-lapse video offers a bird's-eye view of one of the most damaging weather events of our time.
The power of nature hits you as you watch a pier go from slightly above water to submerged in what would seem like no time at all, even if this video wasn't sped up.
Power crews and rescue workers can't seem to move fast enough, especially when battling against the elements.
