Elementary school principal kisses a cow

The principal of Charles H. Kelly Elementary School kissed a cow on Monday.

The smooch was all part of the students' fundraising efforts. The kids were challenged to bring in 2,000 box tops to raise money for the school. If they reached their goal, students could vote for their teachers to kiss a live cow at the school.

The challenge began in August and by Oct. 31, 147 students had brought in 8,005 box tops raising $805 for the school.

The students voted for Toni Baker, school secretary, Kristi Caudill, third grade teacher and Julie Maddox, fourth grade teacher, to kiss the cow. The school principal was so impressed with the 8,000 box tops, he agreed to kiss the cow too.

This was the most money brought in through box tops in more than six years and it was all done within 10 weeks.
