Kerry Chooses Edwards

John Kerry has picked former rival John Edwards to be his vice-presidential running mate. An Associated Press poll had found Edwards was the favorite among registered voters to be the Democratic vice presidential candidate.

The North Carolina senator won only one primary during his run for the presidential nomination, but appealed to thousands of Democratic voters with the positive tone of his campaign.

Kerry says in the e-mail that he can't wait to see Edwards go "toe-to-toe" with Vice President Cheney. He says he and Edwards will be "fighting for the America we love." He also says they'll be fighting to "give the middle class a voice."
