Happy early Veterans Day! - Cincinnati News, FOX19-WXIX TV

Happy early Veterans Day!

It's days like today that I feel like my next investment needs to be a remote starter for my car.  Meteorologist Katy Morgan is saying that we'll be off to another chilly and frosty start but an area of high pressure continuing to push through will bring nothing but blue skies and warm(ish) temperatures! Highs in the Tri-state will top out in the low 60s. This weekend is looking even nicer so be sure to tune-in starting at 4 a.m. for Katy and Frank's weekend forecast!

Happy early Veterans Day and a big THANK YOU to those of you who have either served or are currently serving in the US military! In honor of dozens of men and women coming in from Fort Bragg, the city of Fort Mitchell has a big weekend planned for the veterans. Jessica Brown is live this morning with all of the details.

Also in honor of Veterans Day, the Newport Aquarium is offering free admission to both active military and vets this weekend. Today through Sunday, anyone with a military ID or discharge document can enjoy life under the sea, free of charge. Military family members will also receive discounted prices.

Ryan Widmer is back in the spotlight, asking the Ohio Supreme Court to hear his appeal in an attempt at getting a fourth trial. The Ohio 12th District Court of Appeals upheld Widmer's 2011 conviction at his third trial for the 2008 murder of his wife, Sarah, in September. Rob Williams and Sheila Gray will have more information on the defense team's arguments during the FOX19 Morning News.

Seven members of SEAL Team Six, including one who participated in the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, are accused of leaking classified information. A senior defense official says the group received what the military calls "non judicial" punishment for providing information to the creator of a video game. Four other SEALs are under investigation for similar actions.

The holiday season keeps getting closer and closer and several retailers had Christmas gear filling the shelves even before Halloween. Starting today, Cincinnatians can see the holiday transformation taking place at Fountain Square. Cory Stark is live downtown with more on what's happening this weekend.

For the first time this season, Bengals fans will not be able to catch Sunday's game on local stations. Our boys will be taking on defending Super Bowl champs, the New York Giants, at 1 p.m. Several tickets are still available and you can even check out all six Batmobiles dating back to the 1960s!

We have a big line up for our Friday edition of the FOX19 Morning Xtra! Starting at 9 a.m., be sure to join Frank Marzullo, Tracey Johnson and Stephanie Woods for a recap of The X Factor, how to deck the halls for the holidays and a celebration of a local theatre's 101st birthday!

Today is also the last day to land a guaranteed audition with the producers of Jeopardy! If you or someone you know has the smarts, tune-in every hour to hear the questions and answer on our Facebook page!
