Several events are taking place across the Tri-State this weekend in honor of Veteran's Day.
In addition, several restaurants are also offering free meals to Veterans. Here is a list:
- California Pizza Kitchen: Free pizza and drink on November 11 and 12.
- Golden Corral: Free dinner between 4pm - 9pm. on November 12.
- Hooters: 10 free boneless wings with the purchase of a drink on November 12.
- Ikea: Eat for Free November 10-12 with purchase over $100.
- On the Border: Free Entree Certificate valid up to $10, any day of the week, 11/12-11/30. 15% of the Purchase will be donated to Carry the Load.
- Outback Steakhouse: Free Bloomin Onion appetizer and drink on November 11 and November 12
- UNO: Free entree or individual pizza with an entree or pizza of equal or greater value on November 11 and November 12.

Monday, November 12th:
• Cincinnati's Main Library to Host 58th Annual Veterans Day Commemoration
o Keynote speaker features James R. Shaw, Retired Chief Master Srgt of US Air Force and President of the Cincinnati chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.
o Meteorologist Steve Raleigh will give a presentation of the "Star Spangled Bannter as You've Never Heard It Before"
o Performances by the Sheriff Leis' Bagpipe and Drump Corps, Walnut Hills High School Senior Ensemble, Lebanon High School AFJROTC, OH-771 Color Guard
o Begins at 10:45am in the Atrium of the Main Library, 800 Vine St.
• Texas-Size Thank You to Veterans from Texas Roadhouse – Veterans eat FREE
o Texas Roadhouse restaurants in Hamilton, Milford and Ft. Wright, Ky. Will enjoy a FREE lunch to veterans and active duty military personnel.
o Offer is between 11am-2pm.
o Must present military ID, VA Card, or Discharge papers.
• Thompson Electric, Plumbing, Heating & Cooling presents check to the DAV
o Thompson Electric, Plumbing, Heating & Cooling raised over $180,000 since 2009 to support veterans.
o Check will be presented to DAV and to Marian and Adolfo Olivas – whose son was killed in the line of duty last year. They will receive $10,000 to donate to charity of choice – Fisher House Foundation.
o Presentation will be at Thompson Headquarters at 6 N. Commerce Park, Evendale, OH.
o Breakfast is from 7am-9am, Presentation begins at 8am.
• Kentucky's State Veterans Cemeteries to Host Veterans Day Events
o The four Veterans Cemeteries in Radcliff, Williamstown, Hopkinsville, and Greenup County will host ceremonies.
o Events will begin at 9:30am from Greenup County, 11am in Williamstown and Radcliff, and 10am Central Time in Hopkinsville.
• Golden Corral Military Appreciation Monday
o Golden Corral will hold the 12th annual Military Appreciation Day from 4pm-9pm at ALL locations.
o Veterans and active military personnel will receive a FREE buffet and beverage, while raising money for the DAV.
o Individuals will not be required to present proof of military service
• Smashburger Celebrates Cincinnati Veterans
o Free Entrée for all Veterans and Active Duty Military, at all participating locations.
o Show proof by: wearing uniform, photo of themselves in uniform, US services ID Card, Retired Us services ID Card, Leave Earnings Statement, Veteran organization card, or Certificate of release/discharge.
o Locations in Cincinnati area: Fairfield Bridgewater Falls off Princeton Road, West Chester, Cox Lane across the VOA shopping center, Blue Ash, Cornell Road at intersection of the Reed Hartman Highway, Highland Heights at Sunset & Alexandria Pike, and Cherry Grove, 450 State Route & 125.
• Veteran's Day Volunteer Event at Spring Grove Cemetery
o Stock Yard Bank & Trust will hold its annual volunteer event at the Spring Grove Cemetery from 9am-10:30am.
o Will be collecting items to donate to the Cincinnati VA and will place American flags on the grave sites of Veterans.
• Maddox Veteran's Day Celebrations
o Public ceremony in the front circle of the school or in the gym (if needed) at 9:30am.
• Summit Veteran's Day Ceremony
o Families and community are invited to join Summit Elementary School Veteran's Day ceremony at 8am in the school gymnasium. Refreshments will follow.
• Wilson Veteran's Day Assembly and Choir Concert
o Wilson 5th and 6th grade chorus will perform a Veteran's Day concert which will feature Veterans in the performance.
• Sherwood Veteran's Day Activities
o 10:30am, Veteran will read a patriotic book to students and talk to students about branches of military and their positions.
o 12:15, Veteran will talk to the 3rd graders about military responsibilities with a Q&A session.
o 1:15, Flag History and etiquette for 5th graders
o 2:15, Veteran will talk to 6th graders about military focusing on geography, cultures, and travel.
o 3pm, Veteran reads books to grades k-1.
• The Greater Cincinnati Chapter of Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge will be hosting a Veterans Day Memorial Service for the purpose of honoring our veterans and active duty personnel. The ceremony, named Salute A Vet, will begin at 6:30PM on Monday, November 12th in the chapel at Sycamore Presbyterian Church, 11800 Mason Road, Symmes Township. It will include music, speakers, reading of the names of the veterans being honored and the playing of taps. The highlight of the service will be the lighting of luminaires in honor of our veterans. These will be placed on the church grounds and will offer a significant remembrance of our service men and women. All are welcome.
