It took overtime and a big break for unbeaten Colerain to beat Elder Saturday night at Nippert Stadium and advance to the regional championship.
Down 28-20 with less than twenty seconds left, Elder forced overtime when Josh Moore connected with Joe Ramstetter in the endzone on 4th and 19. Ramstetter caught 9 passes for 170 yards, three touchdowns and converted the game tying two-pointer to force overtime.
Elder had the ball first in OT and scored first. Chris Schroer's touchdown gave Elder a 34-28 lead, but the extra point was missed. Colerain quarterback L.A. Ramsby scored on the first play of Colerain's possession and Zach Gehner's extra point vaulted Colerain to a 35-34 win and a spot in the regional final.
