Korean War vet wants memorial in Price Hill

An 84-year-old Korean war veteran is trying to drum up support of a veterans memorial in Price Hill.

"That's what really gets me, that we don't have anything here to honor our veterans," said Larry Schmolt.

The closest military memorial is in neighboring Delhi Township, but it is dedicated to those who served, fought and died in war and resided in the township.

Schmolt said he is not looking for a memorial on the scale of the one in Delhi Township. A simple flag pole and a plaque would do.

"If they just had a flag pole and a monument to honor all veterans of all wars it would be something nice to say Price Hill has got something to honor the vets that served in the war," said Schmolt.

Schmolt has tried to drum up support for his memorial campaign but has yet to find much interest.

"It's just something that, you know, a veteran has to be remembered," said Schmolt.
