A 6-month-old baby is suffering from a severe head injury with bleeding on the brain after authorities say the father shook the baby on Nov. 7. Police tell FOX19 the child is now out of the Intensive Care Unit, but is still receiving treatment.

Goshen Township Police responded to a home in the 1400 block of Obannonville Rd. for reports a baby wasn't breathing. The child was taken by University Air-Care to Children's Hospital.

Officers say the child had also allegedly been dropped by the father, Philip Cash, 21, in October resulting in a fracture of the baby's arm. They say the incident wasn't reported to authorities and the baby didn't receive medical treatment.

The mother, Ashley Johnson, 21, frantically called 911 saying her baby wasn't breathing. Johnson said she was on her way home after getting a call from Cash. When Johnson got home, she gave the phone to her fiance.

"I picked my son up because she told me to put him in the car seat," Cash told the dispatcher. "I was in the **** living room so I come in here and pick him up and he's not moving."

Cash repeatedly cursed at the dispatcher and told him that if the baby died, it was because he was asking too many questions. The dispatcher informed Cash that a life squad was already on the way.

"Don't get wise with me," the dispatcher told Cash. "I'll send somebody up there and arrest you if you're going to have that attitude."

Cash was indicted on two counts of felonious assault charges and four counts of child endangering charges. Johnson was also indicted on child endangering charges.

FOX19 tried to reach out to the family by phone and in person, but was unable to contact anyone.
