Students at a local elementary school are hosting a lemonade stand to raise funds for childhood cancer.

First graders at Mt. Orab Elementary are capping off their efforts for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation on Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and again from 12:15-3:15 p.m.

Aside from the stand, students have also been doing chores at home to raise money to bring in for the collection.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra "Alex" Scott. 4-year-old Alex was determined to help find a cure for all children with cancer through her lemonade stand.

To date, ALSF has raised more than $60 million toward finding a cure, funding over 250 research projects across the nation.

Mt. Orab Elementary is located at 474 West Main Street in Mt. Orab, OH 45154.
