Operation Christmas Child needs your help

An organization is reaching out to kids across the globe to ensure that they have a gift to open this Christmas. It's called Operation Christmas Child put on by Samaritan's Purse.

Volunteers across the tri-state are collecting toys for kids ages 2 through 14.

These toys will go kids living in poverty in 100 different countries. There are 17 drop off sites in the tri state area, including First Baptist Church in Mount Healthy. Volunteers there are trying to collect 30,000 shoeboxes full of toys this year. If you would like to donate, volunteers are asking for toys, hygiene products, and an encouraging letter for the kids.

You are being asked to place the items in a shoebox or a small plastic container and drop it off at one of the collection sites near you.

For a list of the drop off locations in your area go to the Samaritan's Purse Website.

Monday is the last day to donate.
