The Holiday Season getting into full swing on Fountain Square this week.
The annual Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl was held Tuesday on the ice skating rink on the square. The object of the game is to knock down as many pins as possible in three throws. The person with the highest score received a $50 cash prize, a WTUR Turkey Opoly Board Game and a commemorative trophy.
There was also be a youth turkey bowling lane for children of all ages. Every child received a prize, but the highest youth scorer got a gift card to Arthur's Toys.
All proceeds from the event go to the Freestore Foodbank.
The festivities will continue on Friday for the Macy's Light Up the Square celebration, where the switch will be flipped on the square's holiday tree.
Beginning at 6 p.m., this year's tree lighting ceremony will feature live music, along with an appearance by Santa Claus and Nick Lachey. There will also be a fireworks display.
