MILFORD, CT (WFSB) -
The city of Milford has set up a relief fund for victims of Hurricane Sandy.
Milford Mayor Benjamin Blake announced Tuesday that the Board of Alderman established a city account for donations toward Hurricane Sandy relief and recovery efforts.
Checks should be made payable to the city of Milford and Relief & Assistance Account should be written on the memo line.
All donations should be mailed to City Hall, 110 River St., Milford, CT 06460.
Local volunteers are also organizing a cleanup at Walnut Beach and Silver Sands State Park on Sunday.
"Volunteers can help the recovery by cleaning Milford's beaches and boardwalk - making our shoreline safe for future enjoyment," said the city officials in a statement Tuesday.
People who want to volunteer are asked to meet at the Walnut Beach parking lot at 9 a.m. and in Silver Sands State Park parking lot at 2 p.m.
