PHOENIX (CBS5) -

About 51,000 Arizonans will be flying over the Thanksgiving holiday, and that doesn't figure in the people from other areas traveling through Arizona - making Sky Harbor International Airport one of the busiest places to be over the next few days.

Most people CBS 5 News spoke with said busy or not, they know it's just something they have to put up with to get to where they need to be for the holidays.

Things moved very smooth at the terminal. There was still la lot of hustle and bustle but, for the most part, lines moved quickly.

There are some that say traveling on a busy day doesn't bother them. The key is to come very well prepared and when you do, the day will typically go smoothly.

"Something to read in case you have long waits, get where you're going early so that you don't have to rush (face) big, long lines and stress out about that. Do whatever you have to do to stay stress free," advises traveler Laura Fox.

"Bring the DVDs ... we have our iPhones with games, you know, books, coloring, you know, crayons, things like that," Thanksgiving traveler Teresa Valledor recommends.

Parents CBS 5 News spoke with say keeping your kids happy and quiet makes the trip enjoyable for them.

As for complaints, everyone's answer was the same - they dislike those people who wait to take their stuff off before going through security.

Sky Harbor spokesperson Deborah Ostreicher said they were experiencing five to 10 delayed flights to and from Chicago on Wednesday morning, out of their roughly 35 flights throughout the day.

CBS Chicago reports a dense fog advisory that caused delays at both O'Hare and Midway airports.
