A headline in Thursday morning's Kentucky Post read, "The Diocese is Pondering Bankruptcy," but the Covington Diocese says that's wrong. The article says the Covington Diocese may have to file bankruptcy in wake of multiple sex scandals. But, an attorney for the Diocese says that's not accurate, that filing for chapter eleven is not in the Diocese's plans. As for the Cincinnati Archdiocese, they've never considered it. "The Archdiocese of Cincinnati is fiscally sound and have every reason to believe that will continue to be the case," says Archdiocese spokesman Dan Andriacco. The Post wouldn't return our phone calls for comment. This incident comes after the Portland, Oregon Arcdiocese filed bankruptcy earlier this week.
