CINCINNATI (FOX19) – -
The University of South Florida Bulls got a chilly reception as the UC Bearcats herded them to a 27-10 loss at Nippert Stadium on a cold Friday night.
UC Quarterback Brendon Kay had an injury to his non-throwing elbow earlier in the week, but it didn't seem to slow him down. Kay threw for 178 yards and ran for 52 more, including an 18-yard touchdown run.
Tight end Travis Kelce caught 7 of Kay's passes , a career high, picking up 52 yards and a touchdown. Running back George Winn helped the team live up to his name with 21 carries, 119 yards, and 2 TD's.
On the defensive side, three seniors enjoyed Senior Night at Nippert with linebacker Greg Blair making 14 tackles and linemen Dan Giordano and John Williams sharing 13 more.
With 8-3 UC already assured of a bowl game, wins at UConn next week and in the bowl game would give them their fifth ten-game-winning football season in 6 years.
