SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Deputies said someone stole various holiday decorations from several Spartanburg yards, including part of a nativity scene.
Spartanburg County deputies said they have received several reports within a 2-mile radius of each other that someone is taking Christmas decorations from front yards.
Deputies said they were called to homes on Tiffany Drive, Elm Street and Mayview Street on Sunday about the thefts.
The Tiffany Drive homeowner said someone stole two white animated metal reindeer, a green plastic Christmas tree and a white wooden snowman sometime between noon and 9:40 p.m.
The Elm Street homeowner said someone took a wooden, hand-carved, multi-colored Santa and a baby Jesus from their yard. And the Mayview Street homeowner said someone took an inflatable Snoopy flying an airplane from their yard.
Ellen Horton said the decorations that had been in her family for nearly 20 years are gone.
"They can't be replaced because you can't buy them now," Horton said.
Deputies said they believed Sunday's thefts happened sometime between sunset and 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Deputies said they received a fourth report of a decoration thief on Monday at a home on Longview Drive, which is in the same area as the other homes.
The homeowner reported that their Winnie the Pooh inflatable was stolen between 11:30 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 a.m. on Monday.
Anyone with information about these thefts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
