Kernan appoints new IU trustees

Governor Kernan has appointed two new trustees to the Indiana University board. He also plans to reappoint a current board member, Bloomington businessman Steve Furguson. The new appointees are Gary obstetrician and gynecologist Clarence Boone and Carmel attorney and investment manager Jeffrey Cohen. Both will serve three-year terms. They replace attorneys Stephen Backer of Indianapolis and Peter Obremskey of Lebanon, whose second terms on the board ended June 30th. Boone received a bachelor's degree from Indiana in 1953 and a medical degree in 1956. Cohen played tennis for IU for four years and received a business degree in 1986 and a law degree in 1989.
