After 42 years of operation, the Drawbridge Inn in Fort Mitchell is closing.

The Hotel and Convention Center will close on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012.

The hotel was auctioned earlier this year out of foreclosure and the new owners plan to focus on future opportunities for the site and weight the feasibility of remaining in the hospitality industry.

Officials say the closure will not impact McHale's Events and Catering's events scheduled in the hotel convention space. In addition, Noce's Pizza Pub will remain open.

Over the past 42 years, the facility has welcomed 8.2 million guests and 4,500 conventions, reunions, wedding and other milestone celebrations.

"The Drawbridge Hotel & Convention Center is proud to have stood the test of time as a valued community, industry and business partner," officials said in a news release. "We look forward to the promise of a new beginning and rest assured that knowing that the memories and legend of the Drawbridge Hotel will live on."
