Authorities have released the names of four people killed in a small plane crash near an airport in Indiana.

The accident happened on Sunday evening, about a mile south of the Greensburg Municipal Airport.

The plane, a four-seat 1993 Piper 46, was registered to Donald Horan of Greensburg, the pilot in the crash.

Horan's wife, Barbara, in addition to, Stephen and Denise Butz were also onboard and died in the accident.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the plane had been cleared to approach the airport, but never arrived.

Around that same time, a witness in the area reported a plane going overhead at a low altitude.

After a couple hours of searching, the crashed plane was found just off of County Road 200 West with no survivors.

A flight tracking report indicated the plane was headed from Fort Walton Beach, Florida to Greensburg, with its last position report at 6:15 p.m.

The FAA and NTSB are still investigating the cause.
