UC head football coach Butch Jones participated in a press conference on Tuesday about his team's appearance in the Belk Bowl.

However, the first question to Jones was about his future with the University of Cincinnati.

"I think all you have to do is look at my past," he said. "I'm still the head football coach here, and I think that speaks volumes."

When asked if he would coach in the Belk Bowl, Jones replied, "I have every intention, but that's not why we're here today. If you guys don't, we can end it right now."

Jones toured Colorado's campus Monday and interviewed for the open job as head coach.

Butch Jones left Cincinnati early Monday morning and spent the entire day on the CU campus in Boulder meeting with the school's athletic director, president and others.

FOX19 caught him arriving home at Lunken Airport overnight.

The Denver Post reports Jones has been offered a contract worth $13.5 million over 5-years. His current contract with Cincinnati is through 2017 and worth $8.6 million, plus incentives.

UC AD Whit Babcock was not at UC's press conference Tuesday because he was regularly scheduled Big East meetings in New York.

Babock is said to be in constant contact with Jones and is "comfortable enough with things" to not have to be in Cincinnati.

A source told FOX19 that UC officials spoke to Jones and said the school would match whatever offer he may be considering.

Jones is in his third year at UC and led the Bearcats to a Liberty Bowl victory last season.

Jones also interviewed with Purdue on Sunday.
