CLIFTON, OH (FOX19) -
Students may breathe a little easier on Cincinnati State's campus.
The Landscape Operations class at Cincinnati State took part in a tree planting project on campus.
The project, 'Taking Root', was made possible by a donation that Duke Energy made to the Green Partnership of Greater Cincinnati.
Cincinnati State was able to use $2,000 of that fund and plant 23 trees on campus.
"This will increase the diversity of our arboretum," said Landscape/Grounds Supervisor Kimberly D. Vasko. She is also a professor in Cincinnati State's Horticulture Department.
The department plans to incorporate the new species of trees planted into their educational program.
Duke Energy donated $10,000 in total to help plant trees in the region for 2012.
